SOFA

I really wanted to keep the color palette clean and fresh with traces of the Southwestern style and it’s signature patterns throughout. For the sofa, I wanted a light neutral with soft lines and wooden legs. The dark short legs are a great contrast and tie in with the rest of the palette. What I also like about this sofa is that it’s a nice crossover from a very traditional sectional that may be seen in southwestern design styles. However, the sofa is modern enough that it fits within the southwestern design style without being vastly contemporary.

ACCENT CHAIR

As soon as I saw this accent chair, I knew it’d be perfect for the look I was going for. This accent chair has a very classic design that fits well with the southwestern style. The dark brown of the leather along with the slightly contrasting wooden arms and legs create the perfect balance for this color palette.

SIDE TABLES

To continue adding wood elements as is commonly seen in southwestern designs, I used these light wooden nesting tables. I like the beading detail that goes around the rim of the table top, which adds some interest to the piece. The iron black table legs matches the color palette beautifully and the shape gives it a contemporary look.

FLOOR LAMP

The style of the drum lamp has a more traditional appearance that works well with the more contemporary look of the three crossed dark wooden legs seen here. The overall appearance of this floor lamp adds height to this southwestern contemporary design style.

COFFEE TABLE

The organic shape of this coffee table is what originally caught my eye. I liked the contemporary shape that seemed to match quite nicely with the style of the accent chair. The walnut brings the various shades of brown and creates a nice compliment to the cream tones seen throughout.

AREA RUG

To keep the palette light and play off of the soft tones of the sofa, I chose this cream rectangular area rug. The southwestern style black pattern appearing here adds nice contrast and detailing.

FAUX PLANTS

I definitely wanted to have cactus as the main greenery here. With the desert tones typically seen in the southwestern contemporary design style, the cacti bring a bright element of nature inside.

WINDOW TREATMENTS

Again keeping things light with the color palette and not going heavy on the pattern so as to uphold the contemporary element of this style, I chose these specific window treatments. I like the tab style of the curtains that makes the design more casual and not so much formal.

THROW BLANKET

I searched for a while to find the perfect throw blanket that would go perfectly with this swc design I was going for. The pattern follows the same theme of patterns seen in other areas of this design. The color pulls together the black elements seen and adds color to the sofa without being overbearing.

THROW PILLOWS

These throw pillows were a great way to add swc patterns on a smaller scale to pull together all of the patterns.
