AREA RUG

For dining rooms that are functional, I usually try to keep the area rugs dark to avoid the appearance of stains. I like this area rug because of it’s simple design and mix of print while still remaining true to the design and not having an overwhelming use of heavy patterns.

DINING TABLE

This table goes beautifully with this design because of it’s solid and clean lined appearance. The finish has a natural rustic look that combines elements of southwestern and contemporary together seamlessly.

DINING CHAIRS

These chairs were a great fit for this design because of their simple shape that creates a light element in comparison with the heaviness of the solid table. The dark brown color of these dining chairs fits perfectly into the color palette for this southwestern contemporary look and it’s earthy tones.

ARTWORK

This canvas immediately stood out in the perfect color contrast of the darks and lights. I would’ve like to seen this as an actual wood piece but it does mimic the look of wood which gives it the natural element seen in southwestern contemporary design.

SIDEBOARD

This sideboard works well with this southwestern contemporary dining room because of it’s various shades and tones of wood throughout. The colors compliments compliment the rug, table and chairs and helps to pull all of the colors together to create one cohesive design.

LIGHTING

I really wanted to find something that was not too contemporary, while still remaining true to the southwestern contemporary design style and also not too kitsch. I think this chandelier hits all three. It is not a traditional drum shade but has thin wood strips woven throughout which creates a perfect balance.

TABLE CENTERPIECE

This round ceramic white planter would be a beautiful addition to the dining table. It provides a bright spot of color to break up the warmness of the browns seen throughout. Adding in a small succulent garden will definitely give the palette an earthy touch while maintaining a southwestern contemporary design style.

PLANTERS

I really like the design of these planters for this particular design collection. Although the pot is metal, it mimics the look of rustic wood, which fits well with the design style.
