So you did it – you won the bid and you got the house of your dreams. Now it’s time to throw your house warming party, collect some home goodies and wow your guests with your new home. Here’s some ideas below on a beautiful dessert table set up that has lots of new home touches to amaze guests at your house warming party.

Backdrop

A grass backdrop was the perfect fit for a house warming party. This ties in abstract elements that mimic a lawn or a garden. It also provides a textured background that adds dimension to the rest of the set up. We added “Home Sweet Home” letters spray painted gold to the backdrop, which were easy to tie with clear string and attach to the faux grass.

Balloon Garland

The shades of pink and peach throughout gives this table a very light and bright appearance. We added balloon clusters in 12″ as well as some larger 18″ balloons throughout. The smaller clusters give the balloon garland depth. Since this house warming was taking place during the Spring, we placed flowers throughout to bring in some spring elements.

Printables

The printables were all custom made to match the theme of the house warming party. The miniature house labels were printed and cut by hand to create a tent shape. These can also be done using a cricut to save time. The flag toppers were put together using label paper as well as gold straws to simulate a “for sale” sign.

Accents

The miniature homes which were spray painted in shades of gold and magenta are actually bird houses that we found at Michael’s in the wood section. These miniature homes were perfect to add as accent pieces throughout the table to tie in the theme. They are also great to act as a “filler” to avoid too much negative space for the table setting.

Desserts

All of the desserts were colored to match and compliment the colors in the balloon garland. For some of the themed treats like the rice krispy treats shaped like paint brushes, we simply stuck popsicle sticks in the rice crispy squares and dipped them in chocolate. We added these to a paint can that was stuffed at the bottom with newspaper to help keep them at the top of the can.

Takeaways

For the take home boxes for the guests, we mimicked the look of moving boxes and added realistic labels that you would write when actually moving. It’s a great way to incorporate the kids and show thanks from the entire family. The gifts themselves were candles which is theme appropriate and inexpensive.
